FAQ

Are we open to co-investing?

Yes, we do participate with a consortium of investors as well. Most of our follow-on rounds have been co-investments with marquee investors. We would prefer to do seed or Pre-Series A round individually but are not averse to co-investments.

How long does our investment process take?

Our investment process on average takes 2-3 months. From initial submission, we take 5-15 business days to contact you for the next round of our investment process.

How much do you invest in a round?

Our sweet spot is between INR 1 – 3 Crore, with an ability to do follow-on rounds. Having said so, we can extend our investment size or co-invest with another investor, in case the opportunity fits our investment thesis.

Is it a pre-requisite for the team to work full time on the start-up?

YES. Absolutely. We want the founding team to be fully focused and committed to their start-up.

What do we look for?

The Udtara team scouts for startups with disruptive business ideas, high growth potential and an exciting team with great execution capability. You can read more on About us(attach a link) page.

May I arrange a meeting with the Udtara team to discuss my idea?

Whilst we would love to meet everyone, this is not always possible as we receive a significant number of proposals every week. However, we have a rolling application open, so please go ahead and fill it up if you think you are a good fit. Apply (should be linked to the page where founders can send their proposal)

At what stage a company is investment ready?

We would wish to see a proof of concept to be executed in a small region or geography to narrate the usage of the solution offered. We do not invest in businesses at idea stage without any on ground execution.

How many investments do we make?

We typically invest in around 10-12 start-ups a year.
